| Some of this is from my own experience, some from reading what others have said and seeing pictures of their results... Although HIDs are probably the best solution for getting the most light to the road, getting a good set for $250 might be tough. I would also stay in the 4500k range if possible. Never heard of problems putting the 65 watt Silverstar bulbs in the low beam. I did it, but I wasn't that impressed... and the reason is the lens. The low beam lenses on my car are cloudy as hell. The outer glass appears to be fine, so I have to see how I can clean the inside of the lens itself. In your situation, I think you could easily justify HIDs. But take a look at the projector lens on your low beams... I'd bet money they're cloudy/white. They should be clear.
